Family Sponsorship Program

The Family Sponsorship program was designed to allow Canadian immigrants and citizens to sponsor qualified family members to reunite and assist them to succeed in the labor market. Each province has its own sets of guidelines for the Immigrant Nominee Program (INP). General eligibility qualification questions are as follows:

 

 

Supporting Family Member:

 

1.     Are you a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada at the time INP application is submitted?

2.     Can you prove that the above address has been your principal residence*?

3.     Can prove your genealogical family relationship to the Principal Applicant?

4.     Are you financially self-supporting (have not received financial support through the Saskatchewan Assistance Plan, Employment Insurance, or the Resettlement Assistance Program within the last six months)?

5.     Can you provide a signed Affidavit of Support?

6.     If providing settlement funds, can you show you had possession of the funds for at least three months?

Other:

1. In addition to this INP application, have you (or your spouse) already are supporting other INP applicants?

Principal Applicant:

 

1.     Is between 18-45 years of age*?

2.     Has completed post-secondary education, training, or apprenticeship of at least one year in length that has resulted in a diploma, a certificate or a degree?

3.     Have at least one year of work experience in his/her field of education or training.

4.     Have a full-time, permanent job offer from a Canadian employer?

-or-

       Intend to find full-time, permanent work in Canada?

(Note: Although preferable, job offers to family member applicants do not have to be related to the field of education or previous work experience.)

5.     If intend to find full-time employment, have required settlement funds to live in the Province without work upon arrival?

a.     Settlement funds* requirement: $10,000 for the principal applicant plus $2,000 for each accompanying family member.

b.    Funds can be from the principal applicant, spouse, sponsoring family member or combination of sources.

c.     Proof of funds must show that the source of account must be seasoned for at least three months.

6.     Has to submit English language testing results such as International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
