Federal Skilled Worker Class

Immigration has been an integral part of Canada's strong economy.
Over the year's the Canadian government has encouraged application
for permanent residence from foreign workers with work experience,
skills and and education. The Foreign Skilled Worker Class has
allowed diverse talents from around the world to help sustain
Canada's economic growth.
Program Objectives

Program Requirements
The new economic class category rules will
affect all new applications as well as all applications submitted on or
after February 27, 2008. To qualify for admission to Canada as a skilled
worker, without an approved offer of employment, applicants must meet
the following conditions:

Possess at least one year of
applicable experience in one of 38 major high-demand occupations
-
The work experience must be
classified within Skill Type 0 (Managerial Occupations), Skill Level A
(Professional Occupations), or Skill Level B (Technical Occupations and
Skilled Trades)

Score sufficient points under the
skilled worker point grid comprising of six selection factors
-
Possess suitable settlement
funding
-
Undergo a successful security
background and medical examination.

Settlement Funds Requirement
