Federal Skilled Worker Class Process

 

1.  Assessment

2.  Complete Application Form

3.  Submission of Application to Central Intake Office (CIO)

4.  Receipt of Reference Number from CIO

5.  Submission of supporting documents to Visa Office (CIC)

 

 

 

Stage 1:   Assessment

  1. Receipt of comprehensive resume

  2. Review minimum requirements

    a. Work experience (at least one year paid full-time)

    b. Must had this experience in the last 10 years

    c. Current occupation (must be Skill O, A or B and must be one of the 38 HDO)

  3. Cross-reference job description with NOC main duties to find match

  4. Take online assessment

  5. If needed, send result to Galt Immigration (Galt) for verification

Stage 2:   Complete Application Form                                                              

  1. Sign Engagement Agreement

  2. Complete Application Packet

  3. Internal review of completed application by Service Manager and one officer of the company

  4. Email copy to Galt for review

Timeline: 3 to 5 working days (After application is received by Galt)

Stage 3:   Submission of Application to Central Intake Office (CIO)          

  1. Applicant to purchase CDN$ 550.00 Cashier’s Check (Bank Draft) payable to “Receiver General for Canada” and another check for CDN$50 payable to Galt to cover courier service

  2. Mail signed copy of Application Pack along with the two checks to Galt

  3. Galt to conduct final review of application prior to mailing to CIO

  4. Wait for Reference Number

Timeline: up to 10 weeks (from the time application is received by CIO)

Stage 4:   Receipt of Reference Number From Central Intake Office (CIO)

  1. Prepare all required supporting documents

    a. The application will expire if documents are not submitted within 120 days (from the time the reference number is released)

    b. We recommend to begin gathering all required documents, including taking IELTS, right after submission to CIO

  2. Submit documents to Galt to final review and filing

Stage 5:   Submission of Documents to Visa Office

  1. Galt to submit signed original Application Pack along with the required supporting documents to Visa Office (per instructions from CIO)

Timeline: 6 to 12 Months (from the time application is received by the Visa Office)
